Unlike competition, Rabbit Mill v2.0 skeleton is made from St37-2 steel. The reason we decided to make a desktop CNC machine entirely from steel is to ensure that it will maintain its precision in long term operation.


Steppers, Leadscrews and Nuts

Steppers, Leadscrews and Nuts

We chose 45Ncm(64oz.in) high quality Nema 17 stepper motors with 200 steps per revolution for Rabbit Mill v2.0.

These small motors, combined with the Tr10x2 leadscrews and the anti-backlash Polyacetal nuts, are capable to provide the required torque in order to mill wood, plastics and non ferous metals such as aluminum with a resolution of 0.01mm (0.0003").

300Watts Quiet Cut Spindle

300Watts Quiet Cut Spindle

Rabbit Mill v2.0 is equipped with a 300W Quiet Cut Spindle. The spindle comes ready with a high precision TIR (Total Indicated Runout) of 0.01mm, ER11 collet that accepts 3mm and 3.175mm (1/8") endmills.

ER11 collets are interchangeable so anyone can use the appropriate collet for thicker or thinner endmills.

The Rabbit Mill v2.0 comes with an Arduino UNO and a GRBL Shield with A4988 Stepper Drivers as a controller.

The main reasons we chose Arduino UNO and the GRBL software are their ease of use, stellar performance and of course cost effectiveness.
