High-Performance 4-Axis Motion Control

The Rabbit Board 4-Axis comes fully assembled and with Rabbit GRBL firmware pre-installed, ready for immediate use in real CNC environments. It is built around a dual-core Xtensa 32-bit LX6 microprocessor (ESP32) running at 240 MHz, capable of driving up to 4 stepper or servo axes with clean and stable STEP/DIR signals, suitable for demanding motion control applications.

The controller has been extensively tested under real CNC operating conditions, focusing on power stability, signal integrity, and immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Special care has been taken to ensure consistent timing, reliable step generation, and predictable behavior, even in electrically noisy workshop environments.

All Limit Switch and Probe inputs are opto-isolated and operate on a 12 VDC field side, providing strong protection against electrical noise, ground loops, and external interference commonly found in CNC machines. This architecture also allows safe detection of wiring faults, such as broken cables, when using NC (Normally Closed) switches.

All control outputs — including STEP/DIR signals, Spindle PWM, Spindle Enable, Mist and Flood coolant outputs — are buffered and operate on stable logic levels, ensuring clean signal edges and reliable compatibility with external motor drivers, relays, and control electronics.

The 12 VDC power input includes reverse polarity protection and carefully selected filtering components to ensure clean power delivery and high noise immunity. The internal power architecture provides regulated 5 V and 3.3 V rails, properly separated between field I/O and logic circuitry, avoiding direct exposure of the MCU to external wiring.

Rabbit Board 4-Axis is compatible with all GRBL-based G-code sender applications. For the best experience, we recommend using Focus - CNC Control System .
